but don't have the time to tune into Slashdot and Freshmeat every day, you might be
interested in the Linux Weekly
News, an excellent publication containing all the major
announcements and snippets from newsgroups and mailing lists.

O'Reilly &
Associates are publishers of some of the computer world's finest
books. Virtually every title is the undisputed authority in its
field. On top of that, they look great and they're reasonably
priced. Running
Linux by Matt Welsh & Lar Kaufman is a great book for those
new to Linux.

Although not strictly speaking a Linux publication, The
Perl Journal caters for a similar community, as the Perl
programming language is yet another result of the free software
community's global efforts.
