The Cult of The Marines

Using a new tactic that the Scientologists can only wish they could adopt, the US Marines have taken to kidnapping reluctant young men and applying the techniques of deceit and treachery in their rather desperate attempt to recruit bodies for the ignoble cause.

That one came in from Geoff. Geoff, when are you going to get a blog up and running, so I can send you a trackback ping?

When I'm no longer lazy or decide youre not a good enough megaphone. :)

By the way, I corresponded with the woman who wrote the article and asked her what the difference this was from kidnapping, in a legal sense, and she said because he was over 18 it wasnt kidnapping, just coersion (her word), they just mislead him on where they were taking him and what it was for.

To me, this sounds just like kidnapping. Refusing to take no for an answer, showing up at someone's work, and then deceiving them on where you are taking them, and what it is for...

I can post her exactly correspondence if youre interested. Pretty crazy...
